Washburne and South Beach in January

Trip #48 January 9-19, 2024

Snow and ice was the forecast for the Portland metro area. The coast was predicted to be warmer with a little rain. So we went west.

While we experienced a couple days without power and a little ice in Newport, it was nothing like the devastation seen in the Willamette Valley. Hundreds of large trees came down and more than 100K homes without power for days.

The Central and Eastern US has also been hammered by winter storms.

Full time RVers talk of chasing the good weather. That might have proved difficult in the past few weeks.
